The student council, senior high school department of the Philippine Women’s University CDCEC – Bataan, in coordination with the Bataan Youth Development Office, conducted a financial literacy seminar today, May 17, at The Bunker, attended by 80 PWU students.
Mr. Raimund Gerd “Wacky” Salazar, the keynote speaker, is the operations head of the World Financial Marketing Alliance, Inc., a financial services organization based in Makati City.
On his presentation entitled, “The Impact of Not Knowing How Money Works,” he highlighted the ways on how to manage finances and improve spending behavior as students and as professionals in the future, especially with the challenges brought by inflation and bad spending habits, and the importance of saving money, saying, “Savings only works if you treat it like a bill.”
The seminar is an initiative of the aforementioned student council to encourage their peers to budget and spend their money wisely.
